Im sure i will stop writing about every day, but at the moment the novelties keep me writing.
So yeh yesterday was great, i actually arrived on time for school, this first lesson is supposed to be "writing class" most of my class have opted out of this so there's only a few of us, and really its just like all the others so it's just practice and it means more homework. My partner was a mongolian girl called Hing, but i couldn't understand a word of her korean! she stuggled to distinguish certain letters - generally the japanese in the class all grasp the language the best.
It was a pretty freezing day, so i just went back to my hasook jib - mainly because i have just been so tired, i don't think i've cracked the jet lag yet. So i fell asleep on my bed after what was a short lonely moment, and was woken up by a phonecall from my good friend Ko, who some of you will know, Josh and steve especially, as they stayed with Ko when they were here in korea.
He's just a great guy, he plays drums for loads of famous korean bands, and singers, and does all kinds of styles from jazz to hip-hop - in fact he invited me to one of his concerts in a couple of weeks time, so im really looking forward to that. he was really interested to know about how transition was doing, and kept telling me crazy stories about japan and the places he's been and the thousand things he does - pretty inspiring guy, So yeh, ill see him every sunday at church so that will be great, and i might even get to go snowboarding with him because he tells me he's a pretty good skier. we also ate a great meal which is really similar to 'sam-gyup-sal' where you basically cook meat on a barbecue thing in front of you and then get a big salad leaf and throw loads f ingredients onto it, roll it up, and then somehow stuff it all in your mouth - but its a great meal.
I did take pictures but they're all on my phone. T^T
the way things are usually done in korea when you have a meal or even when you just go out and play, is that one person pays for everyone, great idea, so its been really good to have friends pay for you and then there's satisfaction in being able to return the favor. and also with meals in Korea if your not full after your meal you can just ask for more - every meal you have is all you can eat, generally if you just ask nicely they give you 'desserts' too, but usually its just like a sweet coffee or something like that - korea is not big on real sugar ㅋㅋㅋㅋ.

After meeting Ko i went to get my hair cut - i took a picture, its a weird one, but you get the idea, pretty Korean haha:
Then i checked out the cinema next to my house costs about £3 which is much better than england - but more expensive than the last cinema i went to in korea - maybe i need a student card of something...
anyways, today i met up with Roy again and his friends - one of them is called yan-ki; so named due to the fact that he was born in america and moved to korea when he was three - so i cant remember his real name but everyone calles him Yan-ki after the yankies i guess. But unfortunately for him he is not actually allowed to get a job and live in korea after university because he is technically american, so he will have to move to america - but he really doesn't speak much english. However, the chances are, like every other Korean, they say they cant speak english and act shy - but then after you meet them a couple of times yo realise their english level is pretty amazing.
we played this really strange game which is basically snooker but with only 4 balls and the table has no pockets! it's about spins and ricochets fun - but weird - roy was rediculously good at working out angles and spinning the ball of 5 or 6 pockets sometimes to hit his target. crazy. Sort of difficult to explain without you seeing it.
I also participated in my first Korean Taekwondo class today - funnily enough there were no Koreans present - there was an english teacher and another chinese language student, and that was it haha, its everyones mid-term or finals or something so they're all studying like mad! haha, so basically no one else turned up. but it was good fun - free too.
great well this hasn't been the most interesting post- but i guess it has its informative value... thing...
great.
