It started of emotionally as I felt homesick and a little confused - i guess i expected it and should have seen it coming - so thanks to all those who helped me to feel a little less mental, and find me feet back in Korea.
So my friends were finally free to see me after all their exams and things, and we went out. These are really the best times because they know where to go, what to eat so i really appreciate these moments. Anyway the evening wound up with us taking a trip to a ๋์๋นต (probably spelt that wrong even though its written on practically every building) In english that is singing room - so Korea's Karaoke. Apparently everyone in Korea can sing because i was pretty terrible in comparison - and it was difficult for me to choose songs that they recognized - so i ended up trying to sing Eminem, backstreet boys!?! and other strange numbers, i even found myself attempting Korean songs, but unfortunately even when we slowed the song down my korean reading skills were a little less than competant. but i think im getting better. we stayed there until 4am...
the next day still feeling a bit emotional and ridiculously tired I thought i would go and check out one of the parks in seoul - So i took a subway to jamsil and went to the Olympic park. It was stroke of brilliance going there, the first thing is saw (after the worlds biggest gates) was some kids doing Parkour (free-running), so i went over and tried out my Korean, with a little help from my actions they soon understood our common ground, so i stuck with them for a good hour just doing Parkour, actually they call it Yamakasi in Korea. They were a really friendly bunch, but they often put a lot of pressure on me as they would all stare anytime i did anything... so it was fun and also a bit awkward because i really haven't done Parkour in a while haha, especially outside of the gym. and then i just explored the park, it was great to actually see some green in this city, there are no fields or gardens, and if you want to play football or something you've got to rent the dust pitch. so yeh the park was great - saw a really good sunset too - unfortunately i didnt take my Camera to either of these locations, so no pictures just memories sorry.
Later in the week i went to a Hip-hop concert. My friend Ko is the drummer in the band, so he got me a free ticket and i ended up meeting and dining with the 'crew' before the Gig,

and Ko asked me to film it too so i'll let you see a bit of what went on - but mind the audio clipping, thats one of the disasters of having a new camera you learn through mistakes only noticed in post production.
Yeh that was a really great night i really enjoyed it.
The next day we had a school trip to the Korea national museum. But actually when we arrived at this massive museum we went into a backroom and just did art for 3hrs haha, there was probably some historical significance, but no one understood what the teacher was saying so we just painted.

These three people are my Teachers the person in last picture is my favorite she cracks me up everytime. haha

We did actually look around the museum in the end haha - and we also stopped for some Kim-bab which is pretty nice - its just the seaweed its wrapped in takes getting used to

Today was pretty cool, since it's getting to christmas - haha but really doesn't feel like it, the church is putting on various concerts, I am helping out with the taekwondo kids performance, poor things Okyi's making them break demonstration boards and some of them cant do it - this one little girl was made to repeatedly punch the board; it never broke. so we have another practice tomorrow. so apparently now i am master danny haha, funny.
actually today at church was pretty crazy because at the end of the service they did a free raffle thing (we all got a ticket when we arrived) and so they had bought over 100 presents! of which included a tv, a computer monitor and a bike. those guys...
I also met a really cool guy on the subway today, he spoke english confidently but his accent was really hard to understand, i think he might have been drunk, but we laughed a lot and he made sure i took three satsumas and a crisp home with me...
The people at church have been really kind, even those who done speak english make an effort to juts be welcoming and listen to my bad Korean. I'm constantly blown away by Korean hospitality and their effort on welcoming. they really go out of their way to make you feel welcomed.
I met some people with great names too - winter was my favourite hah, if i have a daughter i'm going to call her winter... well maybe..
This one guy called joon has been really great, he's currently studying in America (texas) but he is here just on Holiday before he goes back to study. He has been great at church and also pushing me to use my Korean - he understands my position having been in the same situation in America. Him and his father took me out for a meal to eat Kal-bi probably my favorite Korean dish.
well im off snowboarding on thursday so im really looking forward to that. It sounds like all i do is have fun and games, but really im just writing to keep you guys interested, leave out the boring and difficult times, give you the highlights.
Anyway i hope everyone has a great Christmas!!

Looks like you have two of the teachers that I had when I took Level 1 in the summer. Is the middle one Teacher Kim Jeong-Ah and the bottom one Teacher Kim Bo-Kyeong? Both were really nice. I hope that you are enjoying your class -- I know that I did. I can't wait to do Level 2. But I live in the US and I can study at Sogang only during the summer, so I expect to finish Level 6 in the summer of 2012. ;)
Happy Holidays.
